  • 1.  Pricing for PowerApps, Flow, Connection to Custom API

    Posted Jan 17, 2019 07:38 AM
I'm in the process of researching the "Power" tools that Microsoft provides.
I'm trying to find out the cost of going down this round. I think it would benefit us a great deal but is the cost way to high for the benefit.
Currently I have a company of 250 employees. Technicians in the field are 150 (using IPADS) and about 100 office staff (windows machines)

I have 10 user licenses at E3 office 365 license - mostly the IT department and a few power users
I have everyone else using the business essentials license for office 365.  Currently, these users use exchange mostly.

I'm desperate to speed up development. I have two developers and list of projects for "simple forms" so long it makes me feel like I'm drowning.
Most forms need some validation of data that resides on our on-premise sql server.

I need help with pricing/cost so that I can convince ownership this what we need.
Any help or recommendation as to how to get started would be great or who at Microsoft can help me with pricing/quoting.
    Thanks
    Diana

Hi Diana, here's a link for Power App pricing https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/ .  The question is are you going to be using the CDM for you data.  If your an O365 shop your users can access SharePoint list.  So we created  procurement app for computer equipment and office supplies.  We drive it off a extract we keep in Excel so the internal procurement team can update.  We use flow and to drive the workflow.  The cost from a Power App cost is zero because you get Power App with O365.  We are a AX shop and will be moving to D365 which is advantages for use within Microsoft pricing as we get the ability to build custom CDM included. So it's not so much how your extracting the data it are you wanting to use the Common Data Model(CDM) and connectors that adds cost.  Hope that helps. mark.zerr@newsunshinellc.com

Diana, Mark's comments are pretty accurate in that the biggest cost can come from the CDM and the data connectors needed beyond O365. We are lucky enough to have E3 on an Enterprise Agreement so all of our employees are covered from a Flow perspective. We also are heavy users of Teams and that is also covered on our E3.
