PowerApps Default Environment: Important things you must know I have found PowerApps Developers struggling big time after having crucial apps deployed to the default environment. Obviously it seems like a default production environment. Since there is minimal documentation on the PowerApps Default Environment, most of us do the mistake of using the default environment for production apps or business-critical apps. The documentation around the default environment is spread across different places in Microsoft documentation limbo. So, here is in a nutshell what’s default environment and why not to use it for production. What is the default environment? A d ...

Community Summit Europe 2020 was one for the books – thought-provoking, innovative, and for the first time…100% virtual. The circumstances of COVID-19 posed new challenges and prompted necessary new approaches to how we gather and learn. Pre-COVID-19, the Community Summit experience could be described as nothing short of memorable, inspiring and connected – a powerful energy felt by all when the community came together, and all the interactions we took for granted that accompanied these great gatherings. This included recognition and celebration of our outstanding volunteers, special moments typically reserved for these marquee events. While we couldn’t convene ...

While working on a project at work, I came across a very interesting issue with a Microsoft PowerApps and Power Automate. A number of you probably already know this, but if you trigger a Power Automate Flow from a button within a PowerApps app, the Flow retains the context of the user account that  triggered the Flow and not the user account that was used to create the Flow. In most instances this is fine, but what happens when you trigger an approval workflow, that needs to update the content approval status of a list item? It would mean everyone would need an elevated level of access to the SharePoint list. What  if that was not an option? What if you only ...

@Reza Rad   and @Leila Etaati  are both Microsoft MVPs, User Group All Stars & Academy instructors, well-known international speakers, best-selling authors, and avid bloggers about the Microsoft Power Platform - the true definition of a 'Power Couple'.  Dynamic Communities (DC): Leila, you were the first Microsoft AI MVP in New Zealand and Australia. What does that mean to you? Leila Etaati (LE): I was energized (and still am) by anything AI. Even the time that I was Data Platform MVP, I always did the data science and AI parts of it, and evangelized those parts. That led me to become the first AI MVP or let’s say double-sided MVP of AI ...
